After moving to the U.S., Goran has pursued career of a Director of Photography in feature films. While at the American Film Institute, he was awarded the Joseph and Olga Auerbach Scholarship, for his excellence in cinematography, where he has received his Master of Fine Arts degree. Goran has a BFA from the University of Arts in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, where he went on to teach filmmaking as an Associate Professor for two years.

Goran has photographed 'Strangeland', directed by John Pieplow, and produced by David Bushell and the Shooting Gallery, starring Dee Snider, Elisabeth Pena and Kevin Gage. The film has achieved cult status among the horror and heavy metal audiences. Goran has also photographed 'All Over The Guy', theatrically distributed by Lions Gate, a romantic comedy starring Dan Bucatinski, Adam Goldberg, Christina Ricci and Lisa Kudrow, directed by Julie Davis and executive produced by Don Roos and Susan Landau. Goran has worked as the DP of Additional Photography for 'America's Sweethearts', directed by Joe Roth, starring Julia Roberts, Katherine Zeta-Jones, John Cusack, Billy Crystal and Christopher Walken.

Working abroad, Goran has photographed 'The Second Front', a WW2 drama, with the Good Films Factory, and the producer Sergei Livnev, directed by Dmitriy Fiks. The film was shot on location in Ukraine, and stars Craig Sheffer, Ron Perlman, Todd Field, and Svetlana Metkina. In the country of Georgia, Goran has filmed 'Trip To Karabakh', starring Nutza Kukhianidze. For his work on this film, Goran has won the 'Best Cinematography Award' at the Smolensk International Film Festival, Russia. Goran has been invited as the Additional Director of Photography on 'The Pursuit Of Happyness', starring Will Smith, directed by Gabrielle Muccino, and released by Columbia Pictures. The film is based on the true story of homeless-become-millionaire, Chris Gardner.

Most recently Goran has won the 'Best Cinematography Award' at the WorldFest Houston International Film Festival for 'The PyraMMMid', an action thriller shot in Moscow, based on the story of one of the biggest financial pyramids in the world. The film is directed by Eldar Salavatov, and carried out by the A-list cast that includes Aleksey Serebryakov, Fedor Bondarchuk and Ekaterina Vilkova. Universal Pictures International has released 'The PyraMMMid' in theaters on 500 screens in Europe.
